Mates Certificate of Competency (STCW 95): II/1 , II/2
Your responsibilities
As a deck officer you will work on board a TSHD, SPCSD or splitbarge depending on your motivation and skills. You will be responsible for the watchkeeping and navigation, the dredging process, the maintenance of the dredging equipment and the daily operations on board. A ‘hands on’ mentality is required. Communicating with the project managers, site superintendants, surveyors and local authorities is part of the daily job.
Your profile You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in nautical sciences or you followed an ‘MBO-4’ or ‘HBO’ education in a maritime academy or nautical institute You hold a COC (Certificate of Competency in accordance with the international convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers,1978, as amended 1995) You speak fluent English Working away from home both in Belgium and in other countries is not a problem for you You will by preference already have had some basic dredging experience or you are willing to learn e-mail: info@deme.be or use online application form http://www.deme.be/career/en/recruitment/
