Job description
The Master has ultimate authority for the safe operation of the vessel under his/her command including safety of the crew and passengers, vessel, cargo and the protection of the environment.
Reports to: Vessel Superintendent / Contract Manager.
Scope of Duties: Ensure the vessel is safely navigated and operated in accordance with:
1. Watch keeping standards laid down in the International Convention of Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers 1995 (STCW ’95). 2. The Convention on International Regulations for Prevention of Collisions at Sea 1972 (COLREG 1972). 3. SOLAS Convention including amendments. 4. Flag Regulations. 5. The ISM Code as applicable. 6. The ISPS Code.
Assist in ensuring that the vessel’s working operations are conducted in a safe way that avoid personal injury, property and environmental damage.
Instruct and encourage crew to work safely.
Promote and comply with Lamnalco OMS policies and procedures.
Advise employer of any deficiencies in equipment, standards, procedures or training requirements
Job requirements
Certificate of Competency in accordance with STCW95 and national regulations.
Certificate of Medical Fitness in accordance with ILO requirements.
A minimum experience of 2 years ASD experience on dual control type vessels.
Must be fluent in English .
Must have experiences of towing/ anchor handling, rig moves and rig position and hose handling operations (SBM related) and relevant experience in the terminal services.
