Position:

Responsibilites

The Master is the owners' representative and is responsible directly to the Fleet Manager. He is

responsible for the overall efficiency of the ship as an operational and efficient unit. He shall assume

responsibility for the protection of GONS interest at all times, and when appropriate those of the

Charterer. He reports to the Fleet Manager ashore or the DPA for matters related to quality, safety and

pollution prevention. He should maintain the required standards of discipline and behavior necessary for

the proper conduct of affairs.

The Master must carry out all requests from the charterer, always within the operating capabilities of the

vessel. These shall include, but not be limited to; loading/unloading assorted cargoes, towing and anchor

handling, at all times protect the commercial interests and good name of GONS. Charterer's interests

must also be protected to the best of the Master's ability but in the event of any conflict those of Gulf

Offshore N.S Ltd shall receive priority consideration.

Duties

- Operate  Quality, Health, Security, Safety & Environmental Protection policies

- Ensure Safe and efficient navigation of the ship

- Ensure Loadline, Stability and Cargo Stowage as per Guidelines

- Manage Health, Accident Reporting and Medical Treatment onboard

- Maintain Surveys and Certification for vessel

- Maintain Records and Reports

- Promote Onboard Training and Delegation

- Evaluate and update Emergency Procedures

- Manage Ship's Accounts

- Manage personnel

- Masters Overriding Authority

- Liaise with Technical Superintendent regularly

- Liaise with Chartering Department regularly

- Head and guide the vessel management team

Minimum Requirements / Certifications

- STCW 95 COC or equivalent

- ENG1 or equivalent if outside UK

Seamen are exempt from basic courses (PST, Fi-Fi, First Aid, and PSSR) if they have completed 6

months service in the Merchant Navy prior to 31/7/98.
