Our client requires a Marine Engineer for the Floating Production Engineering Department reporting to the Technical Director. The department covers all aspects of engineering associated with PFP activities including condition assessment for acquisition of units, concept engineering, technical integrity assurance during detail engineering and execute phase and on-going engineering support during operation. The department is also responsible for estimating and document and information management. Roles and Responsibilities include: - To analyse, determine and specify the marine engineering requirements and considerations applicable to the products and proposals and advise on appropriate equipment - To design efficient marine systems and equipment which can be realised safely and economically - To produce, organise and co-ordinate the production of marine system deliverables, calculation reports, PFDs and P&IDs - Duties include: - Supervise the work done by engineering subcontractors, equipment suppliers and shipyards - Produce specifications for subcontractors and class societies - Conduct evaluations of vessels suitability based on limited information and short inspection visits - Conduct environmental, operational or performance tests on marine machinery and equipment - To liaise with classification societies and other regulatory bodies involved with safety, integrity and legality of projects - Maintain and co-ordinate repair of marine machinery - Leading teams and taking on additional responsibilities when required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years offshore industry experience with at least 2 years with FPSO contractor or shipyard engaged in floating production services. - Must have worked on at least one floating production vessel project from concept to completion - Degree in Marine Engineering or Chief Engineer's certificate - Must have the right to work in EU Technical Competencies: - Good knowledge of power generation, marine, utility, electrical systems of all types of floating production unit - Working knowledge of naval architecture and process disciplines and their interfaces with marine engineering discipline - Capable of performing quick early evaluations of vessel suitability based on limited information and short inspection visits - Good knowledge of applicable marine and floating production regulations ? especially class/flag requirements Behavioural Competencies: - Good communication and presentation skills - Team player - Good organisational skills - Good analytical skills - Can-do attitude - Willing to learn - Attention to detail - Cost awareness - Capacity to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines
