an opportunity for a Marine Engineer, within the Marine Services Department. This is a permanent position within our Offshore, Projects & Operations Division, based in Aberdeen. Responsible to the Marine Services Technical Team Lead for ensuring that clients receive the level of technical support required by the contract. In addition, he/she shall ensure that clients will be provided with a cost effective and operationally efficient service. Key Responsibilities:
- To effectively manage a cost effective marine assurance service to clients on a continuous improvement basis.
- Design and conduct Annual DP Trials on vessels classed with differing class societies bearing in mind that particular Class Society Rules differ.
- Assist in the development and writing of full DP FMEA for vessels undergoing the fitting of both upgraded and new DP systems.
- Promote and implement objectives with regards to Quality, Health, Safety and Environment, meet agreed targets and standards at all times to reduce risk.
- Provide directly such advice, consultancy and support as appropriate to qualifications and experience.
- Conduct Marine Accident / Incident investigations, make recommendations to prevent recurrences and follow up on all recommendations to ensure implementation.
- Assist with Quality Assurance compliance and audit requirements and maintain the Marine Services QA procedures relating directly to the Marine Technical branch.
- Provide an effective mechanism for the resolution of all safety hazards and operational problems, which arise at the interface between vessel and Client.
- Maintain standards of equipment and operation on all vessels via the implementation of an "in service” technical inspection / audit programme.
- Review, develop / modify all Marine Technical pro-formas on a continuous improvement basis.
- Take active part in duty rota.
- Contribute, by effective team participation, to the development of the Technical Department and the services provided.
- Provide direct Marine Technical support.
- Resolution of Technical Operational problems pertaining to vessels.
- Provide technical support to Marine Specialist.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Ideally will be Ch Engineer/Marine Electrician
- Previous Marine management experience
- Ideally will have experience of QA Auditing
- Ideally will have experience of ISM Auditing
- Strong and confident communicator
- Be able to demonstrate client management skills
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Valid offshore survival certificate and medical – or willing to undergo training
