an immediate requirement for a Deck Foreman to work on a pipelay vessel in the North Sea. An ongoing position on an 8 on/ 4 off rotation; day rate has yet to be confirmed. Main Responsibilities:
• Progress the work scope as directed in accordance with the relevant Task Plans and Procedures. • Responsible for all deck areas in use by project operations. • Carry out rigging and lifting operations as required. • Maintain all projects rigging in use. • Ensure all certification is maintained and suitable for use by project. • Ensure all project equipment on deck is sea-fastened and secured. • Ensure all cranes are operated safely and within design limits. • Control all project related crane operations • Assist the Shift Supervisor as directed. • Operate, inspect and maintain all permanent and temporary lifting equipment throughout the installation as directed • Ensure all lifting equipment and rigging is certified. • Update and fill out monthly Pre-Use Rigging check list. • Assist in launch and recovery of the Trencher, PLET’s and other project equipment. • Responsibility for deck safety and personnel involved in deck operations. • Delegate riggers to assist in deck operations including mooring of VSL. • Assist operation of cargo and ballast systems as directed by Marine CRO; • Carry out manual checks of tank levels and sampling as required. • Assist maintaining all cargo handling equipment, pumps, valves etc. in the cargo pump room, tanks and on deck in line • Carry out Helicopter Landing Officer roles and responsibilities. • Serviceability of the Helideck and, where applicable, helifuel skid facilities at all times • Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of cranes, deck store, HLO office and rigging loft is maintained. • Maintain upkeep and appearance of the vessel superstructure, decks and Laydown areas including fabric maintenance as required. • Keeping Heads of Department and Materials Co-ordinator informed of usage and re-order requirements of deck consumables. • Ensuring timely completion of Planned Maintenance routines • Assist with the erection, dismantling of scaffolding and the transportation of scaffolding equipment and materials to the worksite • At least 5 years experience in Oil & Gas industry. • The Deck Foreman is responsible for the preparation and deployment of all project equipment under the direction of the Shift Supervisor.
