Job Title: Crane Operator Mechanic Job Location: Offshore (North Sea) On a 2:2 Rotation This Job Description is not to be considered exhaustive. You may be expected to contribute to other activities out with the scope of this Job Description. Job Purpose To maintain and operate offshore cranes in a safe manner in accordance with legislative, corporate and crane manufacturers recommendations. Relationships Directly Reports to: Contract Support Engineer, Installation Management Group Close working relationships with: Services and maintenance Group Directly Supervises: Flying Squad personnel as required, Drilling Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas including Safety Responsibilities Ensure Crane integrity is maintained to current legislative, corporate and manufacturers recommendations Ensure Crane availability is attained to client specification Carry out planned maintenance routines ensuring spares & resources are planned and organized in a timely manner All maintenance to be carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the Duty Holders safe systems of work Report all incidents and near misses immediately to our client and Installation Management Completion of mechanics daily log, trip reports and enter data into maintenance management system Understand the management of change process to be able to identify and initiate change managements events. Undertake Emergency Response duties as required Ensure all waste is disposed of in accordance with ISO 14001 guidance Ensure a safe and comprehensive shift handover is conducted and recorded Operate Crane for installation and vessel lifts within crane design envelope, taking into consideration prevailing weather and sea states and current load Ensure constant clear and effective communication with deck crew and vessel crew Complete Pre-Use Checklists before commencing each shift Ensure Good Housekeeping within Crane Cabin and machinery Coach and develop new staff members in safe operations of offshore cranes Individual Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment Ensure that all Quality and operational procedures as identified in our Clients QA Manuals are adhered to at all times. Maintain and embrace ownership of departmental policies and procedures Job Qualifications Experience, Skills & Knowledge Essential Long Range Radio Certificate A recognized apprenticeship or mechanical qualification Stage III Crane Operator Certificate Subsequent Stage III assessments Preferred Knowledge of Hydraulic closed and open loop systems Previous offshore experience Previous experience in a lifting equipment environment Banksman Slinger Certificate Basic Rigging Personal Competence, Qualities & Skills Required for position: Self Motivated Work on own initiative Clear and effective communication – both written and oral Decisive during lifting operations Permit training to Responsible Person Level Build good working relationships at all levels of operations Be responsive to client and EnerMech’s needs oilandgas@raeburn.com
