1 Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair related to all equipment throughout the entire offshore unit: A) Mechanical systems such as propulsion systems and controls, bilge and fire systems, electrical systems and components, HVAC systems, various pumps and piping systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, fuel and oil systems, etc. B) Deck machinery such as capstans, winches, davits, cranes, jacking system (where applicable) and misc. hydraulics C) Hotel services such as air conditioning and plumbing, and respond to complaints pertaining to these systems 2 To implement plan maintenance system (PMS) and reactive/breakdown maintenance on the offshore unit 3 To ensure that machinery, hull and systems of the offshore unit are kept under class requirements; and all records, manuals and technical drawings are updated and maintained in an appropriate manner and in line with any changes to onboard equipment 4 To ensure records and logs including daily logs, fuel log, oil record book, plan maintenance records and machinery index are properly updated and maintained 5 To determine the fuel, lube oil, and other consumables, required inventory of spare parts, fuel oil, lube oil and slop oil transfers 6 To regularly inspect all voids and bilges for structural and watertight integrity; and to ensure that all void and bilges are kept clean and dry with respect to pollution control regulations 7 To prepare the engine room for inspection by local marine/safety authorities and demonstrate to Client’s Representatives, if necessary, that all machinery is maintained in proper working condition 8 Responsible for the issuance of purchase requisitions for spare parts, consumable materials and for maintaining minimum stock levels 9 To follow international and GMS guidelines to ensure that bunkering fuel and lube oil are completed in a safe and environmental manner; to provide Master with daily fuel and oil reports
